1. Every WhiteCraze Diamond Deserves Transparency

Lab-grown diamonds are real diamonds, created using advanced technology rather than formed naturally beneath the Earth's surface. They share the essential chemical composition, crystal structure and physical and optical properties of natural diamonds. Their origin is different; their identity as diamonds is not.

Not all diamonds have identical quality. Their colour, clarity, cut and carat weight can vary, which is why independent grading and certification matter.

2. What Is SGL Certification?

SGL is an independent gemological laboratory that provides diamond identification, grading and jewellery reports. Its laboratory-grown diamond reports help document the identity and assessed characteristics of diamonds.

SGL offers different report formats, including reports for individual laboratory-grown diamonds and finished lab-grown diamond jewellery. The exact scope of a certificate depends on the report issued.

3. Understanding Your Diamond Certificate

Depending on the type of SGL report issued, your certificate may contain some or all of the following information:

Certificate / Report Number

A unique reference associated with the laboratory report, supporting identification and verification.

Diamond Origin

Identifies the diamond as laboratory-grown, distinguishing it from a mined diamond or a simulant.

Diamond Weight

Relevant carat weight. Jewellery reports may provide total diamond weight or other weight information.

Colour Grade

Describes the assessed colour. Many WhiteCraze products feature EF-colour diamonds; refer to the specific product.

Clarity Grade

Describes internal inclusions and surface characteristics. Many WhiteCraze products feature VVS clarity.

Cut, Shape & Measurements

May include shape, cutting style, dimensions or cut-related assessments.

Jewellery Description

May describe the finished article, stone information and identifying characteristics.

Additional Technical Information

Some reports may include proportions, photographs, diagrams, comments or other observations.

4. The 4Cs — Understanding Diamond Quality

CUT — The Art of Brilliance

Cut relates to how effectively a diamond's proportions and facets interact with light.

COLOUR — Appearance

Colour grades help describe how colourless a diamond appears. EF falls within the colourless range of the conventional D–Z scale.

CLARITY — The Details Within

VVS stands for Very Very Slightly Included, indicating inclusions extremely difficult to observe under standard grading magnification.

CARAT — Diamond Weight

Carat measures weight, not simply visible size; appearance also depends on shape, proportions and setting.

5. Prefer IGI Certification?

While SGL certification is our standard offering, IGI certification can also be arranged for selected products upon request. IGI — the International Gemological Institute — provides independent diamond and jewellery grading reports.

6. Understanding Our Materials

925 Sterling Silver

Our core silver jewellery collection is crafted in 925 sterling silver, meaning the alloy contains 92.5% silver.

18K Gold Vermeil

Selected WhiteCraze jewellery features 18K gold vermeil plating with a stated thickness of 2.5 microns over sterling silver.

Diamond Certification Is Not Metal Hallmarking

An SGL diamond or jewellery report should not be confused with government-issued hallmarking or HUID registration. WhiteCraze does not represent its standard silver-vermeil jewellery as HUID-certified. Any metal-purity testing or hallmarking information should be communicated separately and only where applicable.

8. What Certification Means — And What It Does Not

Independent certification documents a diamond's identity and assessed characteristics and supports informed purchasing. It is not a jewellery valuation, insurance appraisal, guarantee of resale value or investment certificate. Each report describes the diamond or jewellery assessed according to its stated scope.
