Jewellery Care
A little care lasting beauty
Your favourite jewellery deserves thoughtful care. A few simple habits help protect its shine, delicate settings and beautiful finish.
Last on. First off. Put your jewellery on after getting ready, and remove it before bathing, exercise or bedtime.
Everyday care
- Keep it dry. Remove jewellery before showering, swimming, workouts and household cleaning. If it gets wet, gently pat it dry.
- Beauty products first. Apply perfume, lotions and hairspray before putting on jewellery, and allow them to dry.
- Handle gently. Avoid pulling delicate chains, bending adjustable designs repeatedly or exposing jewellery to knocks and pressure.
Cleaning your jewellery
After wearing, gently wipe each piece with a clean, soft, non-abrasive cloth to remove surface oils and residue.
Avoid toothpaste, baking soda, abrasive polishing cloths, silver dips and harsh household cleaners. Do not use ultrasonic or steam cleaners at home without advice specific to your piece.
For stubborn dirt or discolouration, contact us before attempting a deeper clean.
Caring for silver and gold vermeil
Sterling silver can naturally tarnish over time. Moisture, chemicals and storage conditions can influence how quickly this happens.
Gold vermeil has a gold layer over sterling silver. Gentle handling helps preserve this finish, while friction and frequent exposure to water or chemicals can cause it to wear over time. Avoid vigorous rubbing or polishing.
Always follow the care guidance for your piece’s finish, even when it contains diamonds.
Caring for diamonds and stone settings
Lab-grown diamonds deserve the same thoughtful care as natural diamonds. Keep stones free from surface residue and protect the jewellery from hard knocks.
If a stone moves, a claw catches on clothing or a clasp feels loose, stop wearing the piece and contact us for guidance.
Storing your jewellery
Store each piece separately in a clean, dry pouch or compartment to help prevent scratches and tangling. Ensure jewellery is completely dry before putting it away.
Keep chains fastened and laid loosely, and store your collection away from humidity, direct sunlight and heat.
